01 About this policy

This policy explains how Leahy+King Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on leahyking.com (the “site”), what each one does, and how you can accept, refuse or change your choices at any time.

Leahy+King Limited is registered in England and Wales (company number 11813297). Our registered office is Highroyd Cottage, Northgate, Holmfirth, HD9 6QL. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER – PENDING].

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy notice, which explains more about how we use personal data, the lawful bases we rely on and your rights.

02 What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. They let the site, or a service the site uses, recognise your device on later page views or visits.

We also use similar technologies that work in much the same way, so we cover them in this policy too:

• Tags and pixels – small pieces of code from a provider (such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn or Reddit) that send information to that provider when a page loads or an action happens, such as submitting a form.
• Local storage – space in your browser where a site or service can save small amounts of information.

Cookies can be described in a few ways:

• First-party cookies are set by our site (leahyking.com). Third-party cookies are set by another organisation’s domain, such as facebook.com or linkedin.com.
• Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.

03 Your choices at a glance

• When you first visit, a cookie banner asks for your consent.
• Necessary cookies are always on, because the site cannot work properly without them.
• We only use Statistics and Marketing cookies if you agree. If you refuse, those cookies are not set.
• You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by selecting Cookie settings, which appears in the footer of every page.
• Withdrawing consent stops new cookies being set from that point onwards. It does not affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.

04 The types of cookies we use

We use Cookiebot to manage consent. Cookiebot groups cookies into the categories below.

Necessary

These cookies make the site work and remember the choices you make on the cookie banner. The law allows us to use them without your consent, because they are strictly necessary to provide the site you have asked to use. You can block them in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not then work as intended.

Preferences

We do not currently use any preference cookies. If we start to, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.

Statistics

These cookies help us understand how people find and use the site – for example, which pages are visited most and how visitors move between them. We use this information to improve the site and our content. We only use them with your consent.

Marketing

These cookies and tags help us measure how well our advertising works, show our adverts to people who have visited the site (often called “retargeting” or “remarketing”), and reach people with similar interests. They are set by our advertising partners, who may combine information from our site with other information they hold about you. We only use them with your consent.

05 The services we use

Cookiebot (consent management) – Necessary

Cookiebot, provided by Usercentrics A/S, displays our cookie banner, records your consent choices and makes sure other services only run in line with those choices. It stores your choices in a cookie on your device, along with a consent ID and the date you gave consent. Cookiebot keeps an anonymised record of your consent so we can show that consent was given. If you contact us about your consent, please quote your consent ID and the date, which you can find under Cookie settings.

Google Tag Manager – loads our other tags

Google Tag Manager is a tool we use to manage the code for our analytics and advertising services in one place. It does not set cookies of its own for these purposes. It loads the other services described in this section, and we have set it up so they behave in line with your Cookiebot choices.

Google Analytics – Statistics

Google Analytics (provided by Google) tells us how visitors use the site, such as the pages viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, the website or advert that referred you, and your approximate location (based on your IP address, which Google does not store). We see this information in aggregate reports. We do not use it to identify you.

Google Ads – Marketing

Google Ads helps us measure whether our Google adverts lead to enquiries (“conversions”) and lets us show adverts to people who have visited the site. It may set cookies on our domain and on Google’s advertising domains (such as doubleclick.net).

Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) – Marketing

The Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, helps us measure the results of our adverts on Facebook and Instagram and show adverts to people who have visited the site. It records actions such as page views and form submissions and sends them to Meta. Meta may link this information to a Facebook or Instagram account you hold.

LinkedIn Insight Tag – Marketing

The LinkedIn Insight Tag, provided by LinkedIn, helps us measure the results of our LinkedIn adverts, show adverts to people who have visited the site and see anonymised, aggregated information about the professional profile of our visitors (such as job function and industry). LinkedIn does not share the identity of individual members with us.

Reddit Pixel – Marketing

The Reddit Pixel, provided by Reddit, helps us measure the results of our Reddit adverts and show adverts to people who have visited the site. It records actions such as page views and form submissions and sends them to Reddit.

06 How Google Consent Mode works on our site

We use Google Consent Mode (in its “advanced” setting). This tells Google’s services whether you have agreed to Statistics and Marketing cookies, and they adjust how they behave.

• If you consent, Google Analytics and Google Ads work as described above and may set and read cookies.
• If you do not consent, Google’s tags still load, but they do not set or read any analytics or advertising cookies. Instead, they send Google limited signals without cookies (sometimes called “cookieless pings”). These can include the fact that a page was viewed, the time, the type of browser, the page you came from, your consent choices and whether you arrived from an advert. As with any request your browser makes to a website, your IP address is sent too. Google says that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, and that Google Ads uses the IP address only to work out which country the signal came from. Google says it uses these signals to estimate, in aggregate, how many visits and conversions it could not measure directly.

If you would prefer that no information is sent to Google at all, you can block Google’s tags using your browser settings or a browser extension (see section 8).

07 Advertising audiences

As well as using cookies and tags, we may upload contact details that people have given us (such as an email address) to advertising platforms, including Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Reddit. These details are converted into an unreadable code (“hashed”) before they are uploaded. The platforms use this code to find matching accounts, so that we can show relevant adverts to existing contacts, avoid showing adverts to them, or reach people with similar characteristics. The platforms delete details that do not match.

This is not a cookie, but it is closely linked to how our marketing cookies are used. Our Privacy notice explains the lawful basis we rely on and how to object. You can also ask us not to include your details in future uploads by emailing john.king@leahyking.com.

08 How to change or withdraw your consent

On our site: select Cookie settings in the footer of any page to review your choices, change them or withdraw consent.

In your browser: most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may stop some sites, including ours, from working properly. Find out how in:

10 Information shared outside the UK

Some of the providers we use (Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit and Usercentrics, which provides Cookiebot) are based outside the UK, or may process information outside the UK, including in the United States and the European Economic Area. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, known as the “UK–US data bridge”, for certified US organisations) or by contracts approved for UK transfers, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. 11 Links to other sites

Our site links to other websites, including Calendly (where you can book a consultation) and LinkedIn. These sites have their own cookie and privacy policies, which apply once you leave our site. We are not responsible for how they use cookies, so please check their policies.

12 Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we add, remove or change the services we use, or when the law or guidance changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we start using a new type of cookie that needs your consent, we will ask for it again.
